DO YOU HAVE YOURS?
After April 1 1999 unless you have previously taken a boating safety course, and can show proof youll need a card. This requirement is being phased in over 10 years, beginning September 15 1999.
The Canadian Coast Guard Pleasure Craft Operator Card can be obtained by successfully passing the supervised exam of an accredited course, such as THE BOAT PRO MANUAL published by the Canadian Power & Sail Squadrons (CPS)
ITS THE LAW
If you were born after March 31, 1983, operate a power driven boat in Canadian waters, and cannot show your PCOC or proof of completing a safe boating course, you are breaking the law, If caught, you may be fined over $200.00
