DO YOU HAVE YOURS?

After April 1 1999 – unless you have previously taken a boating safety course, and can show proof – you’ll need a card. This requirement is being phased in over 10 years, beginning September 15 1999.

The Canadian Coast Guard – Pleasure Craft Operator Card – can be obtained by successfully passing the supervised exam of an accredited course, such as THE BOAT PRO MANUAL published by the Canadian Power & Sail Squadrons (CPS)

IT’S THE LAW

If you were born after March 31, 1983, operate a power driven boat in Canadian waters, and cannot show your PCOC or proof of completing a safe boating course, you are breaking the law, If caught, you may be fined over $200.00
