The Bach Chorale Since 1999 Georgetown has been home to the Georgetown Bach Chorale, a small chamber choir performing a classical repertoire. The Chorale has provided the community with an impressive series of concerts, often involving international artists and a varied selection of musical works.
The Georgetown Bach Chorale is established as a chamber choir, formed by up to twenty-four auditioned members. The membership is currently at sixteen. The choir is devoted not only to a cappella repertoire, but also the genres involving instrumental accompaniment and soloists, and always with special emphasis on the works of Johann Sebastian Bach, (with the cantatas and sacred works of the old master having a key role in its repertoire). The Bach Chorale is proud to announce that in the spring of this year they received an Ontario Trillium Foundation Grant. With the help of these funds they intend to make their fourth season their best yet. The Bach Chorale intends to build on their tradition of inviting celebrated local, national, and international artists to join them and provide their listeners with a calibre of performance that has surprised and delighted their audiences to date.
