TIPS
Clean
Your Barbecue
Don't let your barbecue get built up with
grease and corrosion. Clean it every time you use it. Greasy food
drippings can clog the burner's gas ports. This may make the grill
difficult to start and can cause an uneven flame. An easy way to clean
your grill without using a bristle brush is to use aluminum foil.
Crumple up a ball of aluminum foil and rub the grill, making sure to
remove any excess grease buildup.
Less Stick, More Enjoyment
If you often forget to clean the barbecue,
before firing it up, simply coat the grill with a non-stick spray. This
will decrease the amount of grease buildup and help prevent food from
sticking.
Keep it Juicy
When barbecuing, Use a set of tongs to turn
your food on the grill. Do not pierce the food while cooking. Piercing
can allow the juices to run out.
Rotate
Your grill probably has different hot spots.
So to encourage even cooking, rotate your food so each piece gets a
chance to be on the hot spot or cold spot.
Flip early Flip often
You want your meat to be juicy. When you put
your meat on the grill, the heat forces the liquid up through the meat
(that's when you see a big pool of liquid on the steak). You don't want
the juices to come out of the steak; you want it to stay in. Flip every
four or five minutes before any liquid has a chance to escape out of the
top.
Repeat often...
